When it comes to creative ways of asking someone to the prom a high school student in north Spokane may have taken top prize.
Teacher Tiffany Degenhart could only stare and wonder when she found a toilet in her pre-calculus class.
Mead High School Senior Evan Mack was the mastermind behind the scheme. “I had it in my garage for the last two weeks, and I was just working on it, making it clean…so it looked presentable so it didn't look like someone just used it. It was kind of gross.”
Maack wanted to come up with a creative way to ask a special girl in his life to prom.
Degeghart got a look before the student, Cerina, arrived.
Written all over the toilet was Cerina's name, nickname, hearts, and on the lid, the words "lift here. On the other side was Evan's invite, “if you really have to go… go with me.”
Evan and Cerina are boyfriend-girlfriend. Evan said Cerina really didn't expect to receive an invite to prom, since the couple had been dating for seven months.
