SPOKANE--Many people took a moment Monday to pay tribute to our nation's veterans.  A Veterans Day observance ceremony at Felts Field featured Spokane's mayor and the wing commander at Fairchild Air Force Base.

In a ceremony sponsored by the Honor Point Military and Aerospace Museum, Spokane Airports and the City of Spokane; Mayor David Condon thanked all who have served in the military and the veterans who have served Spokane.

The mayor says Spokane is home to 50,000 veterans and 10% work for the city.

In a separate address, Fairchild Air Force Base Wing Commander Colonel Brian Newberry, says he proudly salutes veterans as well as the community that supports the men and women in uniform.

The ceremony also recognized those wounded in combat.
