SPOKANE VALLEY -- Spokane County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man Thursday evening who officials called the "mastermind of writing bad checks."

Deputies say Ronald Foreman, 43, was arrested at his home at 13718 E. 21st with the assistance of SWAT units. Deputies told KREM 2 News Foreman has written tens of thousands of dollars in bad checks, and has been under surveillance since December of last year when counterfeit checks started springing up around Spokane County. Investigators believe checking account numbers were stolen from residential mailboxes and checks were passed in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon.

Deputies also received a tip Foreman may have had explosives in his possession. Explosive ingredients were located, but deputies say they are not illegal, and therefore not seized.

According to investigators, Foreman has been producing counterfeit checks and identifications that have been used by as many as a dozen other people. Officials on the scene told KREM 2 News Foreman had successfully learned how to falsify Washington drivers licenses, complete with a hologram.

Investigators seized 15 computer hard drives, a safe, more than a dozen laptop computers, a washer and dryer, and two flat-screen televisions from Foreman's home.

Deputies say his house was equipped with an "extensive network of both interior and exterior video monitoring systems."

Additional arrests are expected in relation to the case.

Foreman is a convicted felon and was booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges related to leading organized crime. Deputies say it is likely he will also face charges for possession of methamphetamine.

spoklahoma I would vote for him but first he has to find someone to show him "spell check".I know it is not a big deal to spell anymore but you are typing on a machine that does it for you.Its only one more click of the mouse. You wont burn that much energy.I would think if you can get to krem to post you would see that red wavy line under your misspelled word. Right click and take a guess at least it will be spelled right even if you pick the wrong word. Don't get mad nothing wrong with your post I was just after the politician.hahahaha

Great job reporting, KREM: If I am elected president, I intend to propose an idiot bill for people that break crimes that they know tey can't get away with! What this bill will do is give them five years just for being an idiot, and when tey are released, they will wear a hat that says, "I am an idiot," for five more years! Robbery will be included in the bill! They obtain so little money when they rob a bank, only an idiot would do it and there is no way that you can get away with it! Also, no criminal will ever be released for any crime without agreeing to go to a one year treatment program, which they will pay for on increments out of their own pockets!!!!! If they steal, they will py the soul they stole from back double! If they destroy property, they will pay the owner triple, and they will pay all court costs, housing and for anything else on increments! No longer will the people pay for the mistakes of others!!!!!
