Dementia patient missing from Spokane retirement home found safe

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane Police said early Tuesday a man missing from a retirement home had been found safe.

Police said John W. Davis, 70, left Franklin Hills Health and Rehabilitation, near Lidgerwood and E. Dalke, around 2 p.m. on Monday.  Staff said Davis left the facility on foot.  They said he also suffers from dementia.

Police announced he had been missing around 5 a.m. Tuesday.  Officers announced he had been found safe by 8 a.m. but did not release any further details.
