SPOKANE, Wash. -- A construction worker fell off a ladder and landed in a construction zone about 10 feet below ground in Spokane.
Emergency crews got the call around 9:30 a.m. for the foreman, who was unconscious and trapped in the foundation at the site near Hamilton and Sinto.
Paramedics went underground to give any immediately necessary treatment and put him on a gurney. They stabilized him so a ladder truck could lift the man back to the surface.
He was rushed to Sacred Heart Hospital. His condition is not yet known.
The fire department believes the victim suffered a seizure and hit his head on the concrete, but the exact cause of the fall is under investigation.
