Man stabbed in downtown Spokane

SPOKANE -- Authorities responded Sunday afternoon to the report of a stabbing in downtown Spokane.

It happened just before 5:00 p.m. in a grassy area near 2nd and Maple.

Officers found a 60-year-old man with a single stab wound in his side. The victim said he had been stabbed by two transient women in their 40’s who are known by the street names, "Star" and "Pebbles."

Police say the victim’s wounds are not life-threatening and he is expected to fully recover.

Officers are searching for the suspects.  Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
