SPOKANE, Wash. –  A Post Falls man is fighting for his life after a moving truck ramp and a safe fell on him.

Dale Tucker’s niece said he and other employees were loading a heavy safe into a moving van at work, when the ramp gave way.  It smashed Tucker’s head and crushed a coworker’s arm.

Tucker was in critical condition and was flown to a Seattle hospital earlier this week.

The father was scheduled to have surgery Thursday to mend a spinal fluid leak and repair his shattered bones.  His fiancé says he’s making slow progress, but doctors don't know what to expect for the future.  His niece said she’s not sure his face will ever look the same.

“Dale’s the only male figure I’ve had in my life,” niece Brittany Rogers said. “It’s really hard for me to see him hurt.”

Since he’s still in the probation period at his newer job, his fiancé says he's uninsured. Right now they don't know how much state Workers Compensation will cover. In the meantime, his parents and fiancé are supporting him from his hospital bed.

His fiancé and family established a website to help him with mounting medical bills. If you’d like to learn more go to: www.youcaring.com/fundraiser_details
