SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash.-- Dean Anders was sentenced to 204 months (17 years) in prison for beating a man with a hammer. He was sentenced on November 15, 2013.

Anders, 48, was charged with first degree assault and was also given 36-months of community custody in addition to his prison time by a Spokane County Superior Court Judge.

Another suspect in the case was acquitted according to authorities.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said Anders had beaten 46-year-old Richard Burt with a hammer on March 7, 2013.

Anders is also a registered sex offender.
