ATHOL, Idaho -- A woman was held hostage at knife point Friday morning on U.S. Highway 95. A trooper noticed a car had crashed into the trees around 7:15 a.m. and he went to check it out. That is when he found a Deanna Lafrombois,29, held at knife point by her ex-boyfriend. The incident happened between Chilco and the Silverwood Amusement Park.
Lafrombois was driving her car and her ex-boyfriend was in the passenger seat. Police say they were arguing over domestic issues. They say the couple has a history of domestic problems.
Lafrombois lost control of the car and crashed into the trees. An Idaho State police officer noticed the car in the trees and got out to see what was going on. That is when the officer says he saw Damien Bunch, 27, threatening Deanna with a knife. The officer was able to talk Damien into putting the knife down.
Lafrombois was taken to a hospital and was later released. Damien Bunch is charged with kidnapping, possession of methamphetamine along with several other charges.
