SPOKANE, Wash. -- Major Crimes detectives are seeking more information about a local homicide victim found in an alley.

A neighbor noticed David "Brandon" Deponte's body around 9 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Bridge and Cannon while taking out the trash.

Police say they are investigating this as a homicide but can’t say for sure how DePonte, 28, died. Autopsy results should be released next week.

Police say DePonte was recently released from jail and failed to report to his patrol officer. Officers are asking for anyone who might have seen the victim over the last few days to call them.

Three cars that could be related to the death were towed from the neighborhood for the investigation.

Some neighbors are unsurprised by this case, based on the type of recent activity in the area.  They say crime like this isn’t unusual in this part of the city, but they don’t want to get used to it.

This was the first of two homicides in the same neighborhood Friday. Police say the two are unrelated.
