WOODINVILLE, Wash. -- A local teenager is recovering after a plane crashed into a home in western Washington.

Aiden Hubbard, 15, is a freshman at Cheney High School and was the only survivor of that plane crash. He suffered head injuries, burns and a broken spine. He has been upgraded from intensive care and is now in satisfactory condition.

A small private plane carrying Hubbard and his 45-year-old uncle crashed into the garage of a home. Hubbard's uncle was killed.

Hubbard was rushed into surgery in Seattle and is expected to recover.

The school district says it immediately notified staff and counselors about the accident and offered support to any students who may need it.

Classmates are now organizing a fundraiser to help Hubbard and his family with medical costs.
