Spokane, Wash. -- Local businesses are going all out to show the 12th Man is strong in Spokane.

Dawn of the Donut in North Spokane decided to temporarily move away from its graveyard-themed fare to offer up Seattle Seahawk and Denver Broncos-inspired donuts.

"My grandson is a first grader and his teacher is a super Seahawks fan and so they're having a celebration tomorrow," said customer Kurt Smith as he picked up two dozen Super Bowl-flavored donuts from the store.

Staff said 75 Thursday percent of the orders coming in were for Seattle themes, and that they had received orders for hundreds of donuts that needed to be made.  But staff were ready for even more.
"My hopes are up in the like the five to eight thousand range, is what I’m hoping for," said Dawn of the Donut’s Jayy DeBoer.

Dawn of the Donut planned to take orders through Saturday for the big game.  The shop featured a specialty hawk donut and, of course, some options for Denver fans, too.

It was a similar scene over at Sweet Frostings in Downtown Spokane.

"It's crazy, it's awesome to see the fan spirit in Spokane," said Judy Rozier Beebe with Sweet Frostings.

Staff said 95 percent of what they were selling was for Seattle.

The sales could not have come at a better time, workers said, because normally New Year's resolutions keep some people away from desserts and pastries this time of year.

"It's great to have this boost of energy and enthusiasm for the food," said Sweet Frostings’ Sally Winfrey.
