SPOKANE COUNTY-- The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office alerted the public a level III sex offender was released from prison.
Douglas James Dennis, 44, was released recently and indicated he would now be living a transient lifestyle in Spokane County. He has red hair and brown eyes. Dennis is not currently wanted by law enforcement.
Dennis was convicted in 1985 of 1st Degree Rape and served 10 years in prison. His victim was a 17-year-old female. This offense requires Dennis to register with the sheriff’s office of his whereabouts. His previous criminal history places him in a classification level which reflects the potential to reoffend.
Law enforcement is authorized to inform the public of a sex offender release when, in the discretion of the agency, the release of information will enhance public safety and protection.
