SPOKANE -- Buget Travel compiled a list of "8 Perfect Summer Lake Towns" in a recent article on Yahoo.com. First on the list is straight from the Inland Northwest--- Chelan, Washington on Lake Chelan. The arcticle says it's beautiful scenery and recommends a ferry ride. Also mentions all the kayaking, swimming, fishing and boating you'd see or could participate in while you were there. If you're looking for a road-trip this summer, another town was driving distance away. (Of course, any of them-- really-- are drivable, but you know what we mean!) That's Forest Grove, Oregon on Lake Hagg, near Portland. The article calls this one laid-back and outdoorsy with a healthy dose of quirk. Below is the entire list, and you can click the link under the related content on this page to read more about each location. Chelan, Washington (on Lake Chelan) Grand Marais, Minnesota (on Lake Superior) Dillon, Colorado (on Lake Dillon) Forest Grove, Oregon (near Hagg Lake) Rangeley, Maine (on Rangeley Lakes) Leland, Michigan (on Lake Michigan and Lake Leelanau) Truckee, California (on Donner Lake) Oakland, Maryland (on Deep Creek Lake)
