COEUR D’ALENE -- Election workers in Kootenai County are bracing for big Election Day crowds.
Polls will open at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, an hour earlier than in years past, to accommodate what is expected to be an influx of voters. The polls will close at 8:00 p.m. at all 70 precincts across the County.
Election workers said the biggest rushes occur during breaks in the work day. Early morning, lunch time, and after work are the busiest times at the polls.
The Election Office usually has four full time employees. On Tuesday, there will be 350 paid County employees working on things that are election-related.
