SPOKANE-- A local 5 year old lost her most important belonging Thursday: a $3,000 wheelchair, which is her only form of transportation.

Aeryn Nix has an extremely rare condition. She can’t talk and can hardly get around on her own without the specialized chair.

Thursday, Diana Molina accidentally left her daughter’s wheelchair on the sidewalk and drove away after running errands downtown. She says their family is going through tough times right now, and she couldn't afford to replace the wheelchair.

“I’ve cried, and I’ve yelled at myself. How could I be so careless?” Molina said, thinking about that day.

She thought all hope was gone, so KREM 2 News decided to help.  We made a few calls, and with a little luck were able to track down the missing wheelchair.

“To everybody, from A to Z who got this back to us-- From the bottom of my heart, thank you,” Molina said.
