LEWISTON, Idaho -- Authorities at the Nez Perce County Detention Center discovered a dead inmate in a cell early Saturday morning.
At 12:07 a.m., a deputy conducting cell checks discovered the inmate unresponsive and called paramedics.
Medics declared the inmate dead.
The Idaho state Police Critical Incident Team is investigating the inmate’s death, whose name will not be released until family is notified.
An autopsy has been requested.
