SPOKANE, Wash.-- KREM-TV News Anchor Randy Shaw, along with Karl Bingle, CEO of Mission Control Records presented a check to board members of Inland Northwest Honor Flight representing the royalties from the CD entitled “In Your Honor.”
Bingle said the music project produced by his company brought in Grammy award winning artists and musicians who donated their time and talent to a worthy cause. Those artists included Chad Mitchell, Sha Na Na, The Seldom Scene, Sherman Andrus, Lonny Bingle, Sammy Eubanks, Doug Clark, Dennis Washburn, and Randy Shaw.
“On behalf of so many wonderful artists it is my pleasure to present a check to Inland Northwest Honor Flight in the amount of $22,978.00,” said Bingle.
Director Tony Lamanna accepted the check on behalf of Honor Flight. He said the check is the single largest Honor Flight donation from a business fundraiser.
The huge amount of the check means the local Honor Flight organization will be able to charter another plane to take World War Two and other veterans back to Washington, D.C. to see the national monuments built in their honor.
The CD was sold primarily at Rosauer’s store locations and nationwide on the internet, hitting the height of Number 6 in the United States on Amazon.com.
Bingle says, “It’s a proud moment for my company to be a part of such a community spirited fundraiser.”
