RATHDRUM, Idaho—Nearly 400 students in Rathdrum will help plant wildflower seeds in honor of Mother’s Day.

The North Idaho office of the Idaho Transportation Department donated 20 pounds of wildflower seeds. Students from John Brown Elementary in Rathdrum will help plant the Blanket Flower, Plains Coreopsis, Upright Prairie Coneflower and Showy Goldeneye seeds.

The wildflowers will be planted on Mother’s Day. The wildflowers were chosen for being drought-resistant varieties that thrive in the area’s geography and climate.
