CHATTAROY, Wash. -- A house fire killed a man near Chattaroy late Wednesday night.
A smoke alarm alerted firefighters around 10:20 p.m. on East Chattaroy Road. Crews found fire spreading when they arrived.
Firefighters said two people were already out of the home when crews arrived but another was still inside. Brian Scott Love, 42, was killed. The Spokane County Medical Examiner determined he dies from smoke inhalation contributed to thermal burns.
Authorities said he was in a part of the home where the fire burned the most intensely.
Investigators said the fire did not appear to be suspicious.
