SPOKANE, Wash—Firefighters knocked a house fire late Saturday night in North Spokane.
Spokane Fire Department officials said four fire engines, a heavy rescue truck and 22 firefighters responded to a single story home at 8:00 p.m. near West Garland Ave. and North Calispel St.
Fire officials said it appeared that the flames started near the back of the house and spread to the attic.
No one was home at the time according to the Spokane Fire Department.
Fire crews opened up the kitchen and vented to roof to put the fire out according to officials.
Firefighters were able to limit property loss by pushing the fire to the back of the house. Fire officials said the total amount of damage was worth $50,000.
The Spokane Fire Department's Special Investigative Unit took over the investigation into the cause of the fire.
