Hoopfest team check-in was underway at Riverfront Park Friday. Nearly 28,000 players are expected to play over the weekend.
People come from all over to participate and KREM 2 news caught up with one family who planned their vacation around Hoopfest.
Devaunte Wright is no stranger to Hoopfest. The Pasco teen says he actually has some un-finished business. "Last year, I went all the way to the championship, undefeated and I lost, so this year, I'm looking to get the championship back, but with my family, so it should be fun."
Wright and his siblings are competing in the co-ed family bracket. They say it's extra special because they're coming in from all over the state.
Abriana Hill said, "It's awesome. I basically get to hang out with my family, we rented a house, I don't get to see them a lot, maybe twice a year."
