SPOKANE -- Veterans from the Inland Northwest came home Sunday from the final Honor Flight of the year.
Many waited for months for the opportunity to visit the memorials in Washington D.C. This week’s trip was in jeopardy at times because of Superstorm Sandy.
32 veterans stepped off the plane and into Spokane International Airport to a true hero’s welcome, complete with music and waving flags.
For the veterans, it was a grand finale to the trip of a lifetime to our nation’s capitol.
