SPOKANE VALLEY--Five homes needed to be evacuated after a car drove into a home and broke a gas line.
The vehicle collided with a house at 8600 E. Turtle Creek.
Authorities say the car’s driver got out to get his mail at the mailbox about a block away from the home. The car then rolled down a very shallow hill and crashed into the garage.
Five surrounding homes needed to be evacuated and several roads in the area were closed down after the collision caused a natural gas leak.
The driver was not hurt in the crash. Everyone is expected to return to their homes shortly.
