SPOKANE, Wash. -- Crews were called to a report of a fire on North G street near West Rowan Avenue around 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
Crews reported heavy smoke coming from inside the home and requested a full alarm to respond to the scene when they arrived on scene. Firefighters entered the home to fight the fire from the inside.
Officials said firefighters headed into the basement and found it full of smoke. The flames were traced to a storage room in the basement and crews were able to knock down the fire quickly.
Everyone living inside the home was able to exit the house safely before firefighters arrived on scene.
The house suffered heavy fire and severe heat damage to most of the basement and the main floor suffered smoke damage in all rooms.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Spokane City Fire Department’s Special Investigation Unit.
