SPOKANE -- This Sunday is Valentine's Day, and with love in the air, one local restaurant has come up with a special way to show love to people with diabetes.
Boston's Pizza and Sports Bar in Spokane Valley is selling heart shaped pizza Friday through Sunday. And, each time one is purchased a dollar is being donated to a research fund for curing diabetes, The Junior Diabetes Research Foundation.
Boston's Pizza has been running this special for three years, and they hope to raise $2,000 dollars with all their restaurants combined.
As many as three million Americans may have type one diabetes. This form of diabetes is particularly dangerous because it can occur suddenly and usually strikes kids or young adults, but older adults have been diagnosed with it as well.
