SPOKANE, Wash. – Hazmat removed a suspicious envelope at Avista Utilities on Friday morning according to the FBI. Officials said the envelope has been handed over to the FBI for more testing

A hazmat crew responded to a warehouse building behind Avista Corporation along East Mission. Battalion Chief Clive Jones said the moist envelope was found in the mail room. It had “derogatory” writing on it according to Jones.

Hazmat crews arrived at the scene and removed the envelope from the building. An initial test by firefighters showed no harmful substances according to Jones.
