Possible gas leak forces Longfellow Elem. to evacuate

SPOKANE, Wash.—Longfellow Elementary School evacuated students Thursday afternoon while firefighters investigated the area.

Fire crews were called to the scene for a hazmat issue around 1:00 p.m. near Providence and Cincinnati. Spokane Public School District leaders said fire crews searched the school for a possible gas leak.

Students were allowed to return to class around 2:00 p.m. Students were moved to the Boys & Girls Club while firefighters searched the school.
