PULLMAN, Wash.--A fundraiser was set for May 1, 2014 to support WSU Team Gleason.

A sports trivia contest and silent auction to support the team was planned. The event was set to happen from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Banyan’s in Pullman.

The cost for each trivia team of two to five people was $30. Dinner would be available for $10. A cash bar would also be available.

Football coach Mike Leach was set to make a 30-minute appearance during the evening.

Steve Gleason, a WSU alumnus and former New Orleans Saints football player, lives with ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. He supports individuals with neuromuscular diseases or injuries.

The fundraiser was organized by a WSU sports management team.

Silent auction items would include a football signed by Gleason, two autographed photos of his famous blocked punt and a samurai sword signed by former WSU Cougar football players Marcus Trufant and Jason Gesser.

Those who cannot attend but would like to place bids on items should contact Dave Bakken at bakken@wsu.edu or 509-592-0238.
