SPOKANE, Wash. -- A two-vehicle collision Downtown was expected to block lanes for hours Friday morning.
Authorities said a car carrying three people and a dog collided with a fuel tank truck at 3rd Avenue and Browne Street. The car was heading south on Browne and the truck was traveling east on 3rd at the time of the accident, according to reports.
The intersection at 3rd and Browne was flashing red both ways, so investigators said it was not immediately known who was at fault for the crash.
No one was reported injured. The driver of the truck was sent to the hospital as a precaution to be checked out. The dog in the car suffered a burned ear but was expected to be okay.
As a result of the accident, a tank carrying diesel fuel on the truck burst and began leaking onto the roadway, authorities said. Hazmat crews were called to the scene and expected cleanup to take a couple of hours. Lane closures were expected.
Investigators planned to look at surveillance footage of the intersection later to try determining who may have been at fault in the wreck.
