SPOKANE, Wash.--A woman allegedly stole drugs from a grocery store pharmacy three times in one weekend. Police said they believe it may be the same woman in all three cases.

An Albertson’s was first hit on Saturday afternoon. A Safeway was hit Saturday night. A woman targeted the Fred Meyer at the base of Spokane’s South Hill on Sunday night.

Surveillance photos show the suspect wearing sunglasses during all three crimes.

“Obviously this person has some type of problem. We have these types of robberies occur occasionally. But somebody striking so often indicates that she's very desperate, I would imagine,” said Captain Joe Walker with the Spokane Police Department.

Spokane police believe detectives were closing in Monday on the 20 to 30-year-old woman who they believe robbed the pharmacies.

“It's very concerning because of how often she's doing this. Is it for her own habits, somebody else’s. She could be selling the drugs,” said Walker.

Spokane police said they have received numerous tips about the possible identity of the suspect.

There was a different pharmacy robbery in Spokane on Monday.

“I'm sure everybody heard, we had another robbery downtown recently, but it was a male suspect,” said Walker.

Somebody robbed the Fifth and Browne Pharmacy on the South Hill.

A manager at Sixth Avenue Pharmacy said he felt nervous about the thefts. He said the pharmacy installed additional security cameras and locks just a few weeks earlier.

“The last thing we want to see is somebody get hurt inside one of the grocery stores or a pharmacy,” said Walker.

Other pharmacies said their employees remain well aware of the description of the recent female suspect. They are told to follow protocol if robbed.
