GRANT COUNTY, Wash—Four people were arrested in relation to a spree of arsons that started Friday and continued throughout the weekend in three different counties.
Grant County Sheriff’s Office said Eli J. Johnson (24), his half-brother Arthur Raymond Johnson (36), Teresa A. Farris (24), and Nicole M. Mink (31), were taken to Franklin County Jail on suspicion of arson, malicious mischief and criminal trespassing.
Investigators said evidence suggested the group of four set a series of fires in Franklin and Adams counties, damaging abandoned buildings and other property. Investigators believed that arson spree continued into Grant County, where fires destroyed four haystacks valued at $300,000 and an abandoned former army barracks in Mae Valley.
In total, four fires were set in Franklin County, eight fires were set in Grant County and at least four were set in Adams County between Friday and Saturday according to Investigators.
The suspects were arrested on Sunday night at the scene of one of the fires that had previously been set in Franklin County, when a deputy noticed their car matched the description of a vehicle seen by witnesses.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation was continuing on Tuesday.
