SPOKANE, Wash. -- Firefighters battled a fire Monday afternoon near Trent and Springfield at Mackin & Little Incorporated. Flames damaged an electrical company’s warehouse.
The fire started in the warehouse. Smoke and flames were pouring from the building when fire crews arrived. Firefighters said multiple minor explosions were heard from inside the structure, which was reported to contain flammable gas cylinders.
Crews quickly knocked down the fire but not before flames did significant damage to the contents of the warehouse. Investigators said the fire caused an estimated $100,000 in damage.
The warehouse was full of flammable material so firefighters planned to keep watch throughout Monday night to make sure the fire did not flare up again.
Investigators were not sure how the fire started but said it did not appear to be suspicious.
