NORTH SPOKANE-- Firefighters responded to a fire outside a home on the 2300 block of Northwest Boulevard Thursday morning.

Firefighters say the fire started in the bushes outside the home. A woman and her two children safely evacuated from the home.

A man living in the basement of the home grabbed a fire extinguisher from inside the house and helped initally attack the flames.

Firefighters had it under control shortly after they arrived.

There's no official word yet on what may have caused the fire.
