SPOKANE—Firefighters were called out for the second time in less than 24 hours for a fire at an apartment complex in North Spokane.
Authorities said a small fire sparked Friday in a vacant unit at the Autumn Ridge Apartments near Colton and Weile. Crews were able to put it out quickly with minimal damage to the apartment.
Fire crews were already on scene watching for hot spots from Thursday's fire when they noticed smoke billowing from an apartment. When they went to check it out, they discovered the small fire and put it out.
Officials said the apartment was also vandalized and said the fire is under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
