SPOKANE VALLEY – Two people went to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation following an overnight fire at a home on the 4000 block of First Ave. near S. Chronicle Roud.

Spokane Valley firefighters responded to the home just after 1:30 a.m. Friday. When they arrived, they said flames were shooting out every window in the small home. Firefighters from ten responding units managed to extinguish the fire in about ten minutes.

Neighbors initially told firefighters the woman who lives in the home may still be inside, but she showed up to the scene later unharmed.

A fire investigation is underway to determine the cause.
