SPOKANE VALLEY -- Fire crews extinguished a fire in a large garbage pile outside Sunshine Disposal late Wednesday.
Firefighters said a security guard called 911 after noticing smoke and flames outside the business at University and Montgomery.
The sprinklers went off in the building, which authorities said likely saved the building.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Investigators do not think the fire was intentionally set.
