SPOKANE--A fire at a downtown Spokane apartment Saturday morning sent one person to the hospital with serious injuries.
Officials say the fire started on a couch in an apartment on the top floor of the building at 229 W. 2nd Ave.
Crews blocked off part of 2nd Ave. while they extinguished the fire.
The victim was transported to a local hospital. No damage was done to the building.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
