COCOLALLA, Idaho.--Crews were in Idaho on the scene of a fatal crash on Highway 95 just South of Cocolalla Lake on Saturday afternoon.
Authorities said a semi pulling a tanker overturned and spilled a chemical onto the road. All lanes of traffic were shut down.
Officials said the driver of the semi died in the crash.
Hazmat crews were on scene trying to clean up the spill. Officials said around 4:00 p.m. that it would be multiple hours before the road was reopened.
People traveling through the area were being detoured in Athol through the Newport area to Highway 2 to get to Sandpoint.
