SPOKANE-- Family members have identified the young man who drowned while rafting in the Spokane River last weekend.
Family members say Vince Wheeler will be remembered in a memorial service on August 18th at 1 p.m. at Valleypoint Church in Spokane Valley.
Officials reported that Wheeler died after spending almost an hour submerged in the Spokane River Saturday afternoon.
Paramedics performed CPR once Wheeler was brought to shore before transporting him to Deaconess. Wheeler was declared dead at the hospital.
The family has opened a memorial donation fun with the U.S. Bank to help pay for funeral expenses.
