BOISE, Idaho -- Two men who escaped from the North Idaho Correctional Institution in Cottonwood, Idaho early Saturday are back in custody.

The Idaho County Sheriff's Office said Caleb Joe Thomas and Ridge Scott Dains were captured at around 8:30 a.m. Monday while driving a stolen car near Walla Walla, Washington.

The vehicle was reported stolen from a Canyon Road residence on Sunday according to police. Sheriff's officials said firearms and ammunition were also missing from the home.  They were recovered with the vehicle according to police.

Authorities said Thomas and Dains escaped from NICI just after midnight Saturday. IDOC is investigating how the two were able to escape.

Thomas and Dains will be returned to Idaho County where they face the possibility of new charges related to the escape.
