SPOKANE, Wash. -- A driver hit a bus passenger who darted into traffic Tuesday night near Havana and Sprague, according to police.
Officers arrived on scene around 5:30 p.m.
Witnesses said the man was on an STA bus when he started going crazy. They said the man was punching windows on the bus before he darted into traffic. The man was then hit by a vehicle.
Marcus Corporon saw the whole thing. He had a front row seat inside the bus.
“This guy started flipping out because the bus driver asked him for his pass,” Corporon said. “[He] started cussing at him, came up to the front [and] started screaming and cussing at the driver so he got kicked off.”
Investigators said when the angry passenger ran off, he was hit by Diane Gering's mini-van.
“Something hit my window and I wasn't sure what it was until I saw some legs. Then I thought ‘oh my gosh,’” Gering recalled.
Officers said the driver would not face charges, but the man who was hit could possibly be charged. The man was not seriously injured, authorities said.
