SPOKANE-- Emergency crews responded to the Little Spokane River for a water rescue.

An 11-year-old girl was reportedly missing. The mother and the 5-year-old boy were reportedly holding onto a rock.

Fire District Nine pulled the mother and her two children from the Little Spokane River.

During the rescue, a volunteer firefighter went to the hospital from an allergic reaction to brush along the river.

The mom and young boy were in the back of a Spokane County Sheriff's patrol car on their way to be reunited with their family, when someone backing out of their drive way struck them. No one was injured

They were brought to their family in a fire department vehicle.

All three have been reported safe. The volunteer firefighter is expect to be o.k.
