SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash-- A local boy has pledged to shave his head and raised $615 as part of a national fundraiser for cancer research.
The 8-year-old, Bazzy Huffman said he was inspired by the story of Sammy Sommer, another 8-year-old, who lost a battle with cancer in December.
Huffman and his mother decided to join a group of rabbis and participate in a virtual fundraiser for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation works to promote research and funding for children with cancer.
Huffman set a goal to reach $1,000 before March 15, 2014 when he will shave his head.
