SPOKANE, Wash.-- Police chased down a suspect early Thursday after he crashed through a yard in North Spokane and took out several trees.
Police arrested the 23-year-old driver for two counts of hit and run and driving under the influence.
It started just before 3 a.m. near Northwest Boulevard and H Street. Police said the man crashed through a yard at the intersection, taking down three 15’ tall trees. The driver then sped away from the scene.
Authorities said a passing car watched the suspect take off from the scene and followed him. A short time later, the young man crashed again and totaled his Toyota pickup truck near Downriver Golf Course.
The man got out of his car and proceeded to run away from that scene on foot. He ended up at a nearby house.
Police were able to track down the man’s location and take him into custody. No word if he suffered any injuries.
