Driver in Garland drive-by shooting pleads not guilty

SPOKANE,Wash.—The man accused of driving the car involved in a recent drive-by shooting appeared before a judge Tuesday.

Marshall Barkdull, 28, pleaded not guilty. Spokane Police said they suspect Barkdull was the driver in a drive-by shooting in the Garland District in February near Wall and Post.

The victim in the shooting was hit in the chest but is expected to survive.

Police said Burkdull has a criminal history that includes robbery including one at a Pizza Rita in the fall of 2013.

Barkdull is the son of Lincoln County Prosecutor Jeff Barkdull.

His trial is set to begin in April.
