SPOKANE, Wash.—A pick-up truck driver left a trail of debris along Spokane’s South Hill Friday according to police. Officers said the driver hit at least four vehicles and kept moving. Yet, the driver told KREM 2 News that he only hit one vehicle and that everyone else hit him.
Police said the man hit at least four vehicles, three of which were parked. Witnesses claimed the incident began along 29th where the driver hit one vehicle. He then turned onto Fiske where he allegedly hit two more cars according to officers. The trail of destruction then moved into the Zip’s parking lot where another vehicle was hit and damaged.
“He was driving straight down 29th and turned without stopping or looking with traffic on both sides. He pulled out in front of everyone,” said John Lewis, whose car was damaged.
Witnesses followed the driver and said the man eventually stopped at an auto repair stop.
When KREM 2 talked to the suspect, David Boger, he said, “I had no idea. I just moved here from Alaska and stuff like this has never happened to me before.”
Police said the driver could face at least four counts of hit and run, defective equipment and improper lane use. Officers are investigating a possible medical issue as the cause, but paramedics evaluated him and left the scene.
