SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. -- Police believe they have found the vehicle belonging to drive-by shooting suspect Issiah Schauman.
Witnesses said Schauman sped off from the scene in a 1986 Chrysler New Yorker with Washington plate number AEE5144. Authorities said they found and impounded a vehicle matching that description on Thursday morning.
Schauman is still on the loose and is considered armed and dangerous by authorities. He is suspected of shooting Fabian McBride, 31, multiple times at the intersection of Atlantic and Wedgewood on Wednesday afternoon.
McBride's family said that he knew Schauman and they were like family. They also said that Schauman was involved in a break-in at the location McBride was staying and believe that was the motive.
"Issiah had really bad anger problems. He doesn't know how to calm his temper down," said someone close to McBride. They asked not to be identified.
"Some people are saying this was a gang murder," said one of McBride's family members. "No. Not gang related at all. Not gang related at all. I don't know why the gang unit was here. I don't know why the gang unit was here. This was a family issue."
"We're all hurt right now. We're all hurt right now, not knowing what's going on. Fabian was a good guy. He'd help anyone out anytime. If you ask Fabian for anything, he's there for you."
A gang unit did respond to the scene, but Spokane County has not confirmed any gang activity.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
