SPOKANE, Wash. -- A man accused in a deadly drive-by shooting pleaded guilty to 2nd Degree Murder Thursday morning.
Detectives said Issiah Schauman, 19, killed Fabian McBride June 12, 2013 along N. Atlantic in North Spokane, just off Division St. Schauman was arrested later that month in Pierce County.
Following his guilty plea, Schauman was expected to serve anywhere between 10-18 years in prison for the murder.
McBride's family had said that the victim knew Schauman and they were like family. They also said that Schauman was involved in a break-in at the location where McBride was staying and believed that was the motive behind the shooting.
In October, Shauman pleaded not guilty to additional charges he was facing after being charged in the murder. Detectives said Schauman went on an armed crime spree in the spring of 2013 and was a key player in a string of Craiglist robberies.
