SPOKANE, Wash. -- A man driving through north Spokane collided with a specialty transport van carrying a woman en route to the hospital for surgery.
It happened just after 8:30 a.m. Friday near Garland and Empire.
The Grand Prix reportedly hit the van while it was parked at a red light. The impact tipped the disabled woman’s wheelchair backward, but the van did not appear to suffer much damage. The front of the Grand Prix appeared to be ripped apart in the crash. The disabled woman, the driver of the van and the driver of the Grand Prix were all taken to the hospital for their injuries.
Spokane police say the driver of the Grand Prix is at fault. There is no word yet on what caused him to crash with the van.
